В 09.52 (время камчатское) 08 июля 2008 г. при маневрировании гс «Глубомер» для подхода к причалу № 10 морского порта Анадырь произошло касание грунта судном в районе отмели, расположенной в 3 кбт северо-западнее о. Алюмка. От полученных повреждений судно получило пробоины ниже ватерлиний и в 12.00 08 июля 2008 г. затонуло в точке с координатами 64° 40,27 сев, 177° 37,1 вост.
