После спуска на воду вошла в состав Сибирской флотилии. 5 (18) февраля 1912 года «Тунгус» был исключён из списков судов флотилии. Однако после исключения из списков ещё какое то время занимал брандвахтенный пост во Владивостоке. В 1916 году был перестроен в пароход для работы на каботажных линиях, в начале 1920-х годов был продан китайским коммерсантам.
