Заказ на постройку судна выдан 01.07.1955. После подписания приемного акта судно вошло в состав экспедиционного флота МГИ АН СССР, с 1961 года — МГИ АН УССР, с 1992 года — МГИ НАНУ. 23.01.1999 пришло на слом в Аланг, где в последствии разобрано на металл компанией "Maruti Corp."
